Possible Causes
Open or shorted ambient temperature thermistor, Disconnected sensor harness, Corroded sensor connector on control board, Damaged sensor from condensation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dehumidifier before accessing internal components.
- 1. Locate the ambient sensor:
- Typically mounted near the air intake grille or on the evaporator frame with a small clip.
- 2. Inspect wiring:
- Follow the two-wire harness from the sensor to the control PCB.
- Ensure the plug is fully seated and wires are not pinched or broken.
- 3. Check for moisture damage:
- Look for corrosion or water marks around the sensor and connector.
- 4. Replace sensor if needed:
- If E1 persists, replace the ambient temperature sensor with a Crane-compatible thermistor assembly.
- 5. Control board check:
- If a new sensor does not clear E1, the control PCB may have a damaged sensor input circuit and require replacement.
