How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dehumidifier before inspecting the bucket area.
- 1. Check bucket placement:
- Remove and reinstall the water bucket, ensuring it is fully seated.
- 2. Inspect float mechanism:
- Locate the float inside or above the bucket area.
- Move the float up and down; it should move freely and return by gravity.
- 3. Test bucket switch:
- Locate the bucket full microswitch actuated by the float or bucket edge.
- Press the switch lever by hand; you should hear a distinct click.
- 4. Clean and adjust:
- Remove any slime or mineral buildup around the float and switch.
- Ensure the float arm is not bent or jammed.
- 5. Replace parts if needed:
- If the switch does not click or tests open/closed incorrectly with a multimeter, replace the bucket full switch.
- Replace a cracked or waterlogged float.
