Possible Causes

Blocked air filter or intake grille, Failed fan motor causing poor airflow, Dirty condenser coil, Faulty temperature sensor on evaporator or condenser

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dehumidifier and allow it to cool for at least 20 minutes before servicing.

  • 1. Clean air filter:
    • Remove the front or rear air filter according to the manual.
    • Vacuum or wash with mild soap and water; dry completely before reinstalling.
  • 2. Inspect airflow path:
    • Check intake and exhaust grilles for dust buildup or obstructions.
    • Vacuum grilles and surrounding areas.
  • 3. Check fan operation:
    • With the unit reassembled, power on and listen for the fan.
    • If the fan does not run or is very weak, the fan motor or capacitor may be failing.
  • 4. Clean condenser coil:
    • Unplug and remove the outer cover to access the metal condenser coil.
    • Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust; avoid bending fins.
  • 5. Sensor inspection:
    • Locate the temperature sensor clipped to the coil.
    • Ensure it is firmly attached and the wiring is intact.
  • 6. Test:
    • Reassemble and run the unit in a cool, ventilated room.
    • If E8 returns quickly, the temperature sensor or control board may be defective and require replacement.
