Mechanical Vibration / Loose Components
Dehumidifier is very noisy or rattles during operation

Possible Causes
Loose fan mounting screws, Blower wheel out of balance, Compressor mounting grommets worn, Cabinet panels vibrating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before tightening screws or accessing internal parts.
- Step 1 – Level the unit: Ensure the dehumidifier is on a flat, solid surface. Adjust feet if provided.
- Step 2 – Check for external causes: Remove any objects touching the cabinet that could vibrate. Ensure the bucket is fully seated.
- Step 3 – Tighten screws: Inspect and tighten all accessible cabinet and grille screws.
- Step 4 – Inspect fan and blower (advanced): Remove the cover to access the blower wheel and fan motor. Check for debris caught in the wheel and ensure it is firmly attached to the motor shaft.
- Step 5 – Check compressor mounts: Look at the rubber grommets under the compressor. If they are cracked or missing, vibration will increase and they should be replaced.
When to call a technician: If noise is traced to the compressor itself (knocking, metallic sounds), the compressor may be failing and professional evaluation is needed.
