Dehumidifier will not power on at all (no lights, no display)

Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening any panels. If you smell burning or see melted plastic, do not attempt further repair.

• Step 1 – Check outlet: Plug a lamp or other device into the same outlet to confirm it has power. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
• Step 2 – Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks on the Danby power cord. If damaged, the cord must be replaced; do not tape or splice it.
• Step 3 – Try another outlet: Plug the dehumidifier directly into a different, known-good outlet (no extension cords).
• Step 4 – Check internal fuse (advanced): Remove the rear cover to access the main control board. Look for a small glass or ceramic fuse. Test it with a multimeter and replace with the same rating if blown.
• Step 5 – Board diagnosis: If the fuse is good and power is present at the board input, but there is still no display, the main control board is likely defective.
