Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted keypad buttons, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Damaged touchpad membrane, Faulty display/control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before working on the control panel.
- Step 1 – Dry the panel: If the panel was exposed to water or heavy condensation, unplug and allow it to dry for several hours. Do not use the unit until fully dry.
- Step 2 – Check for stuck buttons: Gently press each button several times to free any that may be stuck. Look for physical damage or cracks.
- Step 3 – Remove and inspect panel: Take off the control panel cover to inspect the keypad membrane and PCB. Look for corrosion, burnt spots, or broken traces.
- Step 4 – Replace control panel: If damage is visible or F1 persists, replace the control panel assembly or display PCB with a Danby-compatible part.
When to call a technician: If you are not comfortable disassembling the control panel, or if a new panel does not resolve F1, seek professional service.
