High Temperature / High Humidity Indication
Dehumidifier display shows HI and may not control humidity properly

Possible Causes
Room temperature above rated maximum, Faulty ambient temperature sensor reading high, Humidity sensor out of calibration, Blocked airflow causing internal overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the unit feels excessively hot or smells of burning, unplug immediately.
- Step 1 – Verify environment: Check that the room temperature is within the unit’s specified range (typically up to 35°C / 95°F). In very hot rooms, HI may simply indicate extreme conditions.
- Step 2 – Improve ventilation: Ensure the dehumidifier has at least 12–16 inches clearance on all sides and is not in a confined closet or small enclosed space.
- Step 3 – Clean filter and grilles: Remove and wash the air filter. Vacuum dust from intake and exhaust grilles to improve airflow.
- Step 4 – Sensor inspection: If HI appears in a normal-temperature room, inspect the ambient and humidity sensors for damage or dislodging. Replace if readings are clearly inaccurate.
When to call a technician: Persistent HI in normal conditions may indicate a control board or sensor calibration issue requiring professional diagnosis.
