Low Temperature Protection / Ambient Temperature Too Low
Dehumidifier display shows LO and unit does not dehumidify

Possible Causes
Room temperature below operating range, Faulty ambient temperature sensor reading low, Unit placed near cold floor or draft, Control board misreading sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No internal work is required for basic checks, but unplug the unit if you move it or open panels.
- Step 1 – Check room temperature: Use a separate thermometer to verify the room is above 5–10°C (41–50°F). Danby dehumidifiers will not run below their minimum temperature and will show LO.
- Step 2 – Relocate unit: Move the dehumidifier away from cold concrete floors, exterior doors, or unheated areas. Elevating the unit on a small platform can reduce exposure to cold drafts.
- Step 3 – Allow warm-up: If the unit was stored in a cold area, bring it into a warmer room and let it sit unplugged for 2–3 hours before use.
- Step 4 – Sensor check (advanced): If the room is clearly warm but LO remains, the ambient thermistor may be faulty. Inspect and test it as described for E1 errors.
When to call a technician: If LO displays in a warm environment and a new ambient sensor does not resolve it, the control board may need replacement.
