Possible Causes
Elapsed operating hours triggering maintenance timer, Dirty air filter, Dust buildup on evaporator or condenser coils
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning filters or coils.
Step-by-step:
- 1. Remove and clean filter: Slide out the air filter from the front or rear grille. Vacuum off dust, then wash with mild detergent and warm water. Allow to dry completely.
- 2. Inspect coils: With the filter removed, use a flashlight to inspect the evaporator and condenser coils. If dusty, gently vacuum with a soft brush attachment.
- 3. Reset the reminder: On many De'Longhi models, press and hold the filter or timer button (refer to your manual) for 3–5 seconds to clear the CF code after cleaning.
- 4. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the dry filter, plug in the unit, and confirm that CF has cleared and normal operation resumes.
