Possible Causes

Blocked fan wheel, Failed fan motor, Loose fan motor connector, Faulty fan speed control circuit on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit. Fan blades can be sharp; keep fingers clear.

Step-by-step:

  • 1. Inspect air path: Remove the air filter and check for plastic bags, insulation, or debris stuck in the fan area. Remove any obstructions.
  • 2. Spin the fan by hand: With the cover removed, gently rotate the fan wheel. It should spin freely without scraping. If it is stiff or rubbing, check for misalignment or foreign objects.
  • 3. Check fan motor wiring: Locate the fan motor connector on the PCB and reseat it. Inspect the harness for damage.
  • 4. Test operation: Reassemble enough to run safely, then power on. If the fan does not start or runs erratically and E7 appears, the motor may be failing.
  • 5. Replace fan motor: Remove the fan shroud, detach the fan blade from the motor shaft, and unbolt the motor. Install a compatible De'Longhi fan motor, transfer the fan blade, and reconnect wiring.
  • 6. PCB diagnosis: If a new motor does not resolve E7, the fan drive circuit on the main PCB may be defective and requires board replacement.
