Devola dehumidifier shows E3 and will not start the compressor.

Safety: Unplug the dehumidifier before inspection.

E3 on many Devola dehumidifiers indicates a problem with the internal humidity sensor.

• Reset the control: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. If E3 returns immediately, proceed with inspection.
• Locate the humidity sensor: On Devola units, the humidity sensor is usually mounted behind the front grille near the air inlet, often on a small separate board or as a plastic-encased sensor with a 3–5 wire harness going to the main PCB.
• Check for blockage: Ensure the sensor area is not clogged with dust. Use a soft brush or compressed air to gently clean around the sensor; do not soak it with liquid cleaners.
• Inspect wiring: Follow the harness from the sensor to the main PCB. Confirm the connector is fully seated and that no wires are broken or pinched.
• Replace the humidity sensor: If the sensor housing is cracked, corroded, or E3 persists after cleaning and reseating, replace it with the correct Devola humidity sensor module for your model. Remove the old sensor, install the new one in the same location, and reconnect the harness.
• If the error persists: The main control PCB may not be reading the sensor correctly and may require replacement. This is typically a level-4/5 repair and may be best left to a technician.
