Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM data, failed main control PCB, voltage spike damage, poor PCB grounding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before opening the unit.
E9 generally indicates an internal memory or configuration error on the main control board.
- Extended power reset: Unplug the unit for at least 30 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge and the control to fully reset. Plug back in and test.
- Check supply voltage: Ensure the outlet voltage is within the range specified on the Devola rating label. Avoid using unstable generators or long undersized extension leads.
- Inspect main PCB: Remove the control cover and visually inspect the main PCB for burn marks, bulging capacitors, or corrosion. If present, the board should be replaced.
- Replace main control PCB: If E9 persists after reset and there is no visible external cause, the main control PCB is likely faulty. Order the exact Devola replacement board for your model and transfer all connectors one by one from the old board to the new board.
- Use surge protection: After replacement, consider using a surge-protected outlet to reduce the risk of future EEPROM corruption.
