Possible Causes
Seized fan motor, obstructed fan wheel, failed fan capacitor (on AC motors), faulty DC fan motor, fan feedback signal not detected by main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the fan.
F1 usually indicates a problem with the fan motor or its feedback signal.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the front and rear grilles and visually inspect the fan wheel. Remove any foreign objects (plastic, insulation, etc.) that may be jamming it.
- Spin test: Gently spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely. If it is stiff or grinding, the motor bearings may be failing and the motor should be replaced.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the fan motor wires to the main PCB. Ensure the connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged.
- Capacitor check (AC motors): If your Devola model uses an external fan capacitor, inspect it for bulging or leakage. Replace with the same µF rating if suspect.
- Replace fan motor: If the motor is seized or does not run even with correct voltage supplied (tested by a qualified person), replace it with the exact Devola fan motor assembly.
