Possible Causes
Failed compressor start relay/PTC, Open compressor overload protector, Broken wire to compressor, Faulty main PCB relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. The compressor terminals carry mains voltage; use caution.
Steps:
- Access the compressor compartment and remove the terminal cover.
- Inspect the start relay/PTC and overload protector for burn marks or loose connections. Reseat all spade connectors.
- Test the overload protector for continuity. Replace if open when cool.
- Replace the start relay/PTC with a Dimplex-approved compressor start device if suspect.
- Check the main PCB compressor relay for clicking when the unit calls for dehumidification. If it does not energize or has burnt contacts, replace the main PCB.
