Possible Causes

Loose or damaged communication cable between display board and main PCB, Oxidized ribbon cable contacts, Failed display/control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel or top cover.

Steps:

  • Remove the top or front bezel to access the display/control PCB. Carefully release any clips to avoid cracking the plastic.
  • Locate the ribbon cable or harness that connects the display board to the main control board. Disconnect and inspect both ends for bent pins, corrosion, or damage.
  • Clean contacts gently with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free swab. Allow to dry fully.
  • Reconnect the cable firmly, ensuring it is fully seated and locked. Route it so it is not pinched by the cabinet.
  • Inspect the display PCB for signs of liquid ingress or burnt components. If damaged, replace the Dimplex display/control PCB with the correct part number.
  • Reassemble, restore power, and test all buttons and display functions. Confirm that the E6 code is cleared.

Note: If the cable and display board are good, the main control PCB may have a communication fault and require replacement.
