Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always unplug before opening the unit. Many E7 events are environmental and do not require opening the cabinet.
User checks:
- Verify the dehumidifier is used within the specified ambient temperature range (typically 5–35 °C). Move the unit to a more suitable room if necessary.
- Keep the unit away from direct sunlight, heaters, or cold drafts that can cause extreme sensor readings.
Technical checks:
- Inspect the ambient temperature sensor location. Ensure it is not touching hot components (like the condenser) or pressed against the cabinet wall.
- Check sensor resistance at known room temperature and compare with Dimplex service data. Replace the sensor if readings are clearly incorrect.
- If a new sensor does not resolve E7, the main PCB may be misreading the sensor and should be evaluated or replaced.
Tip: After any sensor replacement, unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes to allow the control to reset and recalibrate.
