P1
Dimplex
Defrost Mode Active / Low Coil Temperature Protection
Dehumidifier displays P1 and stops dehumidifying

Possible Causes
Evaporator coil temperature below defrost threshold, Operating in a very cold room, Restricted airflow across evaporator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal repair is usually needed for P1; it is a protective mode. Do not bypass safety controls.
Steps:
- Understand that P1 is typically not a fault but an indication that the unit is in defrost mode. The compressor will stop while the fan may continue to run.
- Ensure the room temperature is within the unit's operating range (check the Dimplex manual). If the room is too cold, move the unit to a warmer area.
- Clean the air filter and check for dust buildup on the evaporator coil that could cause excessive icing.
- Allow the unit to complete its defrost cycle. Once the coil warms, P1 should clear automatically and normal operation will resume.
- If P1 remains constantly and the unit never resumes dehumidifying, the evaporator sensor or control board may be misreading coil temperature and should be tested and possibly replaced.
