Possible Causes
Blocked condensate pump outlet hose, Failed internal condensate pump, Stuck pump float switch, Kinked or improperly routed drain line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination; keep the area dry while working.
Steps:
- If your Dimplex dehumidifier has an internal pump, check the external drain hose for kinks, clogs, or elevation higher than specified. Clear any blockage and ensure proper downward slope.
- Remove the pump access cover (if provided) and inspect the pump reservoir. Clean out slime, algae, or debris that may be jamming the float.
- Manually lift and lower the pump float to ensure it moves freely and activates the pump microswitch.
- With the unit unplugged, disconnect the pump wiring connector and inspect for corrosion. Reseat the connector.
- If the pump does not run when the float is raised during a test (following service manual procedures), replace the Dimplex condensate pump assembly.
- After reassembly, pour a small amount of water into the pump reservoir and verify that the pump activates and discharges water properly, and that P3 clears.
