Possible Causes
Transducer overheating and shutting down, Low water level at transducer surface, Partial blockage in water feed to transducer, Faulty thermal sensor near transducer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before inspection.
- 1. Check water level in base: Remove the tank and inspect the base reservoir. If water level is very low, ensure the tank is properly filled and seated.
- 2. Descale transducer area: Clean the transducer and surrounding area with a vinegar-water solution to improve heat transfer and water contact.
- 3. Ensure adequate ventilation: Clean vents and ensure the unit has enough clearance to avoid heat buildup.
- 4. Monitor pattern: If misting always stops after a similar time and resumes after cooling, the transducer or its thermal sensor may be failing and require replacement.
