Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the humidifier from the wall outlet before any inspection. Never open the unit while it is connected to power.
- 1. Check outlet and cord: Test the wall outlet with another appliance. Inspect the Dyson power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. If the cord is damaged, discontinue use and replace the cord or have it serviced.
- 2. Reset power: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes to allow internal capacitors to discharge, then plug back in and try the power button and remote again.
- 3. Inspect base for blockage: Remove the water tank and check the base for any signs of water ingress or corrosion around the power entry area. If you see corrosion or burn marks, stop using the unit and contact a technician.
- 4. Internal fuse / PCB: If the unit still shows no signs of life, the internal fuse or main PCB power supply section may have failed. Accessing and replacing the PCB requires opening the base, which exposes high-voltage components. This should be done only by a qualified technician.
When to stop: If there is any smell of burning, visible charring, or the unit trips the breaker, do not attempt further repair yourself—seek professional service.
