Possible Causes
Failed touch panel or button PCB, Moisture ingress into control panel, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main PCB, Damaged capacitive touch sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning or handling the control panel.
- 1. Dry the panel: If the control surface is damp or has condensation, wipe it dry with a soft cloth and allow it to air-dry for 30 minutes before use.
- 2. Clean gently: Use a slightly damp cloth (water only) to clean the control area, then dry thoroughly. Do not use solvents or spray cleaners directly on the panel.
- 3. Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then plug back in and test the buttons or touch controls.
- 4. Check for physical damage: Inspect the panel for cracks or signs of impact. Damage can break the underlying sensor traces.
- 5. Replacement: If F16 persists and controls remain unresponsive or erratic, the control panel PCB or ribbon cable likely needs replacement by a technician.
