Possible Causes
Failed UV-C lamp or LED module, Loose UV module connector, Faulty UV driver circuit on PCB, UV safety interlock not engaged due to misaligned tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. UV-C light can be harmful to eyes and skin; never look directly at an exposed UV source.
- 1. Reseat water tank: Remove and reinstall the tank, ensuring it is fully seated and correctly aligned. Some Dyson humidifiers will not enable UV if the tank interlock is not engaged.
- 2. Clean UV chamber: If accessible without disassembly, inspect the UV chamber window for cloudiness or mineral film. Wipe gently with a soft cloth dampened with distilled water. Do not scratch the window.
- 3. Power reset: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and test again. Intermittent logic faults can sometimes be cleared this way.
- 4. UV module failure: If F5 persists, the UV-C lamp/LED module or its driver circuit is likely faulty. Replacement requires opening the base and disconnecting the UV module from the main PCB. This should be done by a qualified technician due to electrical and UV safety concerns.
