Possible Causes
Stuck or damaged tilt sensor, Faulty mercury-free tilt switch, Loose tilt sensor wiring, Misaligned base after impact
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before handling. Ensure it is on a stable, level surface.
- 1. Level the unit: Place the humidifier on a flat, solid surface. Avoid thick carpet or uneven flooring that can cause slight tilting.
- 2. Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in and try again. Some models need a full power cycle after a tip-over event.
- 3. Gentle tap: With the unit unplugged, gently tap the sides of the base to free a possibly stuck tilt switch. Do not strike hard enough to crack the housing.
- 4. Inspect for damage: If the unit was dropped, check the base for cracks or misalignment. Internal sensors may have been dislodged.
- 5. Sensor replacement: If F7 persists even when the unit is clearly upright and stable, the tilt sensor or its wiring is likely faulty and must be replaced by a technician.
