Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain channel, Misaligned water bucket, Cracked bucket or drain pan, Improperly installed or elevated drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and mop up any spilled water to avoid slipping or electrical hazards.
Steps to stop leaks:
- Inspect bucket: Remove the bucket and check for cracks or damage. Replace if leaking.
- Clean drain channel: Locate the drain outlet from the evaporator tray into the bucket or hose. Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to remove slime, mold, or debris.
- Check unit level: Ensure the dehumidifier is on a level surface. A tilted unit can cause water to spill over the pan.
- Verify drain hose installation: If using a hose, make sure it is firmly attached, slopes downward continuously, and is not submerged in standing water at the outlet.
- Inspect drain pan: If accessible, check the internal drain pan for cracks. Replace the drain pan assembly if damaged.
Warning: Do not operate the unit with panels removed; water can drip onto live electrical parts.
