How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Electrolux dehumidifier from the wall outlet before removing any panels. Do not work on the unit while it is connected to power.
Steps to check and correct E1:
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes, then plug it back in. Try operating the unit again to see if E1 clears.
- Inspect control panel connections: Remove the front bezel or top cover (usually a few Phillips screws). Carefully lift the control panel and locate the ribbon cable or wiring harness going from the user interface board to the main control board.
- Reseat connectors: Gently unplug the ribbon cable and harness connectors, inspect for corrosion or bent pins, then firmly reconnect them. Ensure the locking tabs are fully engaged.
- Check for moisture damage: Look for signs of condensation or water intrusion on the display PCB and main PCB. If the board is damp, allow it to dry completely and clean light oxidation with electronics contact cleaner.
- Test operation: Reassemble the control panel, plug the unit back in, and test. If E1 persists, the user interface board or main control board is likely defective.
- When to replace: If buttons do not respond or the display is erratic even after reseating cables, replace the user interface (display) board. If the display powers but cannot communicate with the rest of the unit, replace the main control board.
Warning: If you are not comfortable working around electronic control boards, contact an authorized Electrolux service technician.
