Possible Causes
Failed relative humidity sensor module, Disconnected or damaged humidity sensor harness, Corroded sensor connector at main PCB, Faulty main control board analog input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the control panel or accessing internal wiring.
Steps to correct E7:
- Locate humidity sensor: On many Electrolux dehumidifiers, the RH sensor is mounted behind the front grille near the air intake or integrated into the control panel assembly.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Check for dust buildup on the sensor element and ensure the harness is firmly connected at both the sensor and main control board.
- Clean sensor: If dusty, gently blow off debris with dry compressed air. Do not use water or solvents on the sensor element.
- Check continuity: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor and check for continuity across the sensor pins according to the service manual. An open circuit or obvious physical damage indicates a bad sensor.
- Replace humidity sensor: If the sensor is faulty or E7 persists after cleaning and reseating, replace the humidity sensor module with an OEM Electrolux part.
- Control board replacement: If a new sensor does not clear E7, the main control board may not be reading the sensor correctly and should be replaced.
Warning: Avoid touching the sensing element directly; oils from skin can affect accuracy.
