• Inspect humidity sensor: Clean dust from the sensor and reseat its connector on the main board.
• Test sensor: Compare displayed humidity to a known-good meter. If the unit always shows HI regardless of conditions, replace the humidity sensor.
• Control board: If a new sensor does not fix the issue, the main control board may be misinterpreting the signal and should be replaced.

Note: HI by itself is not always a fault; it can simply indicate very high humidity.
