How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the humidifier. Wear gloves if you are sensitive to mold.
Steps to eliminate odor:
- Disassemble and clean: Empty the tank and base. Wash all removable parts with warm soapy water.
- Disinfect: Soak the tank and base in a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water for 20–30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
- Clean filters: Replace wick filters or pre-filters if they are discolored or smell musty.
- Dry between uses: Allow the unit to dry completely when not in use to prevent regrowth.
Note: Follow Electrolux's recommended cleaning interval, often weekly, to prevent odors.
