High Moisture Load / Normal Operation Question
Dehumidifier bucket fills too quickly or unit runs constantly in a damp basement.

Possible Causes
Very high ambient humidity, Infiltration of moist outdoor air, Water intrusion in basement, Dehumidifier undersized for space
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is plugged into a grounded outlet and bucket is emptied safely.
- Verify humidity: Use a hygrometer to measure room humidity. If it is above 60%, continuous operation is expected.
- Improve sealing: Close windows and doors to reduce moisture infiltration.
- Use continuous drain: If your Essick Air dehumidifier supports it, attach a drain hose to the bucket outlet and route it to a floor drain.
- Consider capacity: If the space is large or very damp, a higher-capacity dehumidifier may be needed.
