Water Leakage / Drainage Fault
Dehumidifier leaks water onto the floor instead of into the bucket or drain hose
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain channel, Misaligned water bucket, Cracked bucket or drain pan, Improperly installed drain hose on continuous drain outlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Dry any spilled water to avoid slipping and electrical hazards.
Steps to fix leaks:
- Inspect bucket: Remove the bucket and check for cracks or overflows. Ensure it seats fully and evenly when reinstalled.
- Clean drain channel: Look inside the unit where water drips from the evaporator into the drain trough. Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to clear any slime or debris from the drain hole.
- Check continuous drain setup: If using a hose, ensure it is firmly attached to the drain outlet, slopes downward continuously, and is not kinked or blocked.
- Level the unit: Use a level to ensure the dehumidifier is sitting flat. Adjust feet or surface so water flows toward the drain outlet.
- Inspect internal pan: If accessible, check the internal drain pan for cracks. Replace the pan or bucket if damaged.
Note: Regularly cleaning the drain path prevents mold and clogs.
