Possible Causes

Any thermistor (ambient, evaporator, defrost) open or shorted, Sensor harness unplugged, Corroded sensor connectors, Failed sensor input on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before inspection.

Steps to address F0:

  • Reset: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in. If F0 returns, proceed.
  • Access control board: Remove the control panel cover to expose the main board and sensor connectors.
  • Identify sensors: GE dehumidifiers typically have multiple thermistors: room/ambient, evaporator, and sometimes discharge or defrost. Each connects to the board via 2‑wire plugs.
  • Check all sensor plugs: One by one, ensure each sensor connector is fully seated. Look for corrosion or moisture on pins.
  • Inspect harnesses: Follow each sensor wire to its probe. Check for cuts, pinches, or broken insulation.
  • Test sensors (if possible): Disconnect each thermistor and measure resistance at room temperature. Replace any that read open, shorted, or drastically different from the others.
  • Replace main board: If all sensors test good and F0 persists, the main control board sensor circuit is likely defective and should be replaced.

Tip: Label each sensor connector before unplugging to avoid mixing them up during reassembly.
