How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Beware of sharp coil fins.
Steps to address F3:
- Inspect coil and sensor: Remove the front panel to expose the evaporator coil. Locate the thermistor clipped to the coil tubing.
- Check attachment: Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped and making good contact with the coil. Reattach if loose.
- Inspect wiring: Look for damage where the sensor wires pass through metal openings. Repair or replace as needed.
- Reconnect at board: Unplug and replug the sensor connector at the main control board.
- Replace sensor: If F3 persists, replace the evaporator thermistor with a GE-compatible part.
- Control board: If a new sensor does not clear F3, replace the main control board.
