Possible Causes

Loose or damaged communication cable between user interface and main PCB, Corroded connectors on control boards, Faulty display/control panel board, Failed main control board (PCB)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel or accessing the PCB.

  • Power cycle: Unplug the dehumidifier for 10 minutes, then plug back in. If E6 reappears immediately, proceed.
  • Inspect control panel connections: Remove the top or front control panel (usually held by screws and clips). Locate the ribbon cable or harness connecting the display board to the main PCB. Ensure it is fully seated at both ends.
  • Check for damage: Look for kinks, cuts, or burn marks on the cable. Inspect connectors for corrosion or bent pins. Clean gently with electronic contact cleaner if needed.
  • Reseat or replace cable: Disconnect and reconnect the cable several times to wipe oxidation from contacts. If the cable is visibly damaged, replace it with the correct Haier harness.
  • Board replacement: If the cable is good but E6 persists, either the display board or main PCB is likely faulty. Replacement of one or both boards is recommended and may be best handled by a professional technician.
