Possible Causes
Open or shorted room temperature thermistor, Damaged sensor harness, Corroded connector at PCB, Faulty main control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before servicing.
- Reset: Unplug for 10 minutes and retry. If F1 returns, proceed.
- Locate ambient sensor: Find the thermistor near the air intake or on a bracket inside the front grille. Inspect for physical damage.
- Check wiring and connector: Follow the wires to the PCB, reseat the connector, and inspect for corrosion or broken wires.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance with a multimeter and compare to Haier’s spec chart. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range.
- PCB check: If a new sensor does not clear F1, the main PCB may be faulty and should be replaced.
