Possible Causes
Internal condensate pump failure (if equipped), Blocked pump discharge hose, Kinked or elevated drain hose, Pump float switch stuck, Pump wiring or PCB fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination; keep the area dry while working.
- Identify pump feature: Confirm that your Haier model has an internal pump. P3 is typically used on pump models to indicate a pump or drain issue.
- Check drain hose: Inspect the pump discharge hose for kinks, clogs, or sharp bends. Ensure the hose runs downward or horizontally and does not exceed the maximum lift height specified by Haier.
- Clear obstructions: Disconnect the hose and flush it with water to remove any sludge or mineral buildup. Reattach securely.
- Inspect pump reservoir: Remove the bucket and locate the internal pump tray or reservoir. Clean out any debris, slime, or mold that could jam the pump or float.
- Check pump float: Gently move the pump float up and down. It should move freely and return to its rest position. If stuck, clean and free it.
- Test pump operation: Reassemble, plug in, and run the unit in pump mode. Listen for the pump motor. If it does not run when the tray is full, the pump motor or its wiring may be faulty and require replacement.
