Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain channel, Misaligned bucket, Cracked bucket, Improperly installed drain hose, Unit not level
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before tipping or disassembling. Dry any spilled water around electrical parts.
- Level the unit: Use a level to ensure the dehumidifier is sitting flat. Adjust feet or surface as needed.
- Check bucket: Remove the bucket and inspect for cracks or overflows. Clean any slime or mold buildup.
- Clean drain channel: With the bucket removed, locate the small drain hole or channel at the back of the bucket cavity. Use a pipe cleaner or flexible brush to clear any clogs.
- Inspect drain hose (if used): Ensure the hose is firmly attached, slopes downward continuously, and is not kinked or blocked.
- Test with water: Pour a small amount of water into the evaporator drain pan and confirm it flows into the bucket or through the hose without leaking.
