Possible Causes
Normal compressor protection delay, Overheating compressor, Faulty overload protector sticking open
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: Many Hisense dehumidifiers include a built-in delay (typically 3 minutes) to protect the compressor from rapid restarts.
- Wait for delay: After the compressor stops, wait at least 3–5 minutes before expecting it to restart.
- Improve cooling: Ensure good airflow around the unit and clean the filter and coils to prevent overheating.
- Check ambient temperature: Very high room temperatures can cause the compressor to overheat and extend the restart delay.
- Service if abnormal: If the unit will not restart for a very long time or only restarts after cooling completely, the overload protector or compressor may be failing; contact a technician.
