Possible Causes

Failed relative humidity sensor, Sensor cable disconnected from main PCB, Corroded sensor connector, Sensor contaminated by dust or moisture

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dehumidifier before removing covers or touching internal components.

  • Reset the control: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in. If E6 returns, continue.
  • Locate humidity sensor: On Hisense units, the RH sensor is usually mounted near the air intake grille or on a small bracket inside the front housing, connected by a small multi-wire harness to the main PCB.
  • Inspect sensor and wiring: Remove the front cover. Check that the sensor module is firmly mounted and that its connector is fully seated on the control board. Look for corrosion or broken wires.
  • Clean the sensor area: Gently blow away dust with compressed air. Do not touch the sensor element directly with fingers or liquids.
  • Replace sensor if faulty: If the wiring is intact and E6 persists, replace the humidity sensor assembly with a Hisense-compatible RH sensor.
  • Control board check: If a new sensor does not clear E6, the main PCB may have a defective sensor input and should be replaced by a technician.
