Possible Causes
Stuck or misaligned float switch in bucket, Broken float arm, Disconnected float switch wiring, Failed water level switch, Faulty main PCB input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspecting the bucket area or float switch.
- Check bucket position: Remove and reinstall the water bucket firmly to ensure it is seated correctly and engaging the safety switch.
- Inspect float mechanism: Remove the bucket and look inside for the plastic float assembly (often on the side or back of the bucket cavity). Make sure it moves freely up and down and is not jammed by dirt or scale.
- Clean the float area: Wipe away any slime, mineral deposits, or debris that could prevent the float from moving. Rinse the bucket thoroughly.
- Check float switch wiring: With the rear or side panel removed, locate the float switch wires leading to the main PCB. Ensure the connector is secure and wires are not broken.
- Test the switch (optional): With power disconnected, use a multimeter to check continuity of the float switch while moving the float up and down. It should open and close reliably.
- Replace faulty parts: If the float is broken or the switch does not change state, replace the float switch assembly or bucket float as appropriate.
- Board issues: If the switch tests good but E7 persists, the main control board input may be defective and require replacement.
