Possible Causes
Failed fan motor, Obstructed fan blade, Loose fan connector, Faulty fan speed feedback sensor, Main PCB fan driver failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dehumidifier. The fan blades can be sharp; avoid placing fingers near the fan when powered.
- Check for obstructions: Look through the grille for any plastic, packing material, or debris blocking the fan. Remove the front or rear cover if needed and clear any obstructions.
- Spin the fan by hand: With power off, gently spin the fan blade. It should rotate freely without grinding or binding. If it is stiff, the motor bearings may be failing.
- Inspect wiring: Locate the fan motor connector on the main PCB and ensure it is fully seated. Check the harness for damage.
- Clean dust buildup: Heavy dust on the fan and motor can cause drag. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean the fan assembly.
- Test operation: Reassemble, plug in, and start the unit. If the fan does not start or E8 returns, the fan motor is likely defective.
- Replace fan motor: Remove the fan shroud, disconnect the motor wiring, and unbolt the motor. Install a Hisense-compatible fan motor and reassemble.
- Control board diagnosis: If a new fan motor does not resolve E8, the main PCB fan driver circuit may be faulty and should be replaced by a technician.
