Possible Causes
Low refrigerant charge due to leak, Blocked capillary tube, Severely dirty condenser coil, Faulty evaporator temperature sensor misreading, Main PCB refrigerant protection logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Do not attempt to open the sealed refrigeration system or add refrigerant without proper certification.
- Clean airflow components: Remove and wash the air filter. Vacuum and brush the condenser coil to remove dust. Ensure unobstructed airflow around the unit.
- Check room conditions: Make sure the room temperature and humidity are within the unit's operating range. Extremely low humidity or temperature can trigger EC on some models.
- Inspect for frost or lack of cooling: With the cover removed and the unit briefly powered (exercise caution), observe the evaporator coil. No cooling or only partial frosting may indicate a refrigerant issue.
- Sensor check: Verify that the evaporator temperature sensor is properly attached and its wiring is intact. Replace the sensor if it is damaged.
- Professional service: If EC persists after cleaning and sensor checks, the unit may have a refrigerant leak or sealed system problem. Contact a certified technician; sealed system repairs are not DIY.
