How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off and unplug the dehumidifier before inspecting the bucket area.
Steps to fix E9:
- Remove and reseat bucket: Pull the water bucket out completely and reinstall it firmly, ensuring it is fully seated and level.
- Inspect float: Inside the bucket or bucket compartment, locate the float mechanism. Make sure it moves freely and is not jammed by dirt or scale.
- Clean float and guides: Wipe the float and its guide channel with a damp cloth to remove slime or mineral buildup.
- Check bucket switch: With the bucket removed, locate the bucket full microswitch or magnetic reed switch in the compartment. Ensure it is not loose or damaged.
- Test switch (advanced): With the unit unplugged, access the switch wiring and test continuity while actuating the switch. Replace if it does not change state.
- Replace faulty parts: Install a new Homedics bucket full switch / float assembly if the original is defective.
