Possible Causes
Failed fan motor, Obstructed fan blade, Loose fan wiring connector, Faulty fan driver circuit on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening the housing.
Steps to address F4:
- Check for obstructions: Look through the grille to see if anything is blocking the fan. Remove any foreign objects.
- Spin test: With the unit unplugged, gently spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the cover and check the fan motor connector at the PCB. Reseat it firmly.
- Test motor (advanced): Use a multimeter to check motor winding resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Replace fan motor: Install a new Homedics dehumidifier fan motor if the original is seized or electrically open.
- Control board: If the motor tests good but does not receive power, the control board fan circuit may be defective and require replacement.
