Homedics humidifier display shows HI and the unit may not run or cycles off quickly.

Steps to address HI:

• Verify room conditions: Use a separate hygrometer to confirm actual room humidity. If the room is already very humid, the unit may shut off by design.
• Relocate unit: Ensure the humidifier is not placed in a confined corner or directly under a shelf where humidity can build up around the sensor.
• Check sensor placement: Make sure the humidity sensor is not directly in the mist path. If it is, reposition the unit so mist disperses into the room.
• Clean sensor: Gently clean the humidity sensor area with a dry cloth to remove dust or mineral residue.
• Replace sensor: If HI appears even in a dry room, replace the Homedics humidity sensor module.
