Safety: Unplug from the wall before opening the unit. Do not bypass fuses with wire or foil.
Steps to restore power:
- Check outlet: Test the wall outlet with another device to confirm power is present.
- Inspect AC adapter: For models using an external adapter, check for damage to the cord and plug. Test with a multimeter or try a known-good compatible Homedics adapter.
- Check power jack: Wiggle the plug gently at the unit. If power flickers, the jack may be loose or damaged.
- Internal fuse (advanced): On mains-powered models, remove the base cover and locate the small fuse on the PCB. If blown, replace only with the same type and rating. Investigate for shorts if it blows again.
- Switch and PCB: If the fuse and adapter are good, the power switch or main PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
