Possible Causes
Burned-out ultrasonic transducer disc, Heavy mineral scale on transducer, Failed transducer driver circuit on PCB, Loose transducer wiring connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the humidifier and empty the tank before inspection or cleaning.
Steps to restore mist:
- Check water level and seating: Ensure the tank is full and properly seated so water flows into the base reservoir.
- Clean the transducer: Apply a small amount of white vinegar to the metal disc and let it soak for 5–10 minutes. Gently scrub with a soft brush or cotton swab to remove scale. Rinse with clean water and dry the surrounding area.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracks, chips, or burn marks on the disc. Visible damage usually means the transducer must be replaced.
- Check wiring (advanced): Remove the base cover and verify the transducer wires are firmly connected to the control board.
- Replace transducer module: If cleaning does not restore mist, install a new Homedics ultrasonic transducer module compatible with your model.
