Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain channel, Misaligned water bucket, Cracked bucket or drain pan, Improperly installed drain hose on continuous drain outlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Dry any spilled water to avoid slipping and electrical hazards.
Steps:
- Inspect bucket: Remove the bucket and check for cracks or overflows. Ensure it is not warped and can seat fully.
- Clean drain channel: Locate the drain spout or channel from the evaporator tray to the bucket. Use a small brush or pipe cleaner to remove slime, mold, or debris.
- Check continuous drain: If using a hose, ensure it is firmly attached, slopes downward continuously, and is not kinked or blocked.
- Level the unit: Use a level to ensure the dehumidifier is slightly tilted toward the drain outlet as designed.
Note: If the internal drain pan is cracked, it may be replaceable on some Honeywell models; otherwise, replacement of the unit may be required.
