Possible Causes
Stuck or misaligned bucket float, Defective bucket full micro‑switch or reed switch, Broken float magnet, Damaged wiring to bucket switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the bucket or accessing internal switches.
Steps:
- Remove and reseat bucket: Pull out the water bucket completely and reinstall it firmly, ensuring it is fully seated and level.
- Inspect float: Inside the bucket, locate the plastic float assembly. Make sure it moves freely up and down and is not jammed by dirt or scale. Clean with warm water if needed.
- Check float magnet: Verify the magnet (if used) is still attached to the float and not cracked or missing.
- Test bucket switch: With the bucket removed, locate the bucket full switch in the cabinet (often a small lever or reed sensor). Manually actuate it and listen for a click. If you have a meter, test for continuity when actuated. Replace the switch if it fails.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the switch wires are intact and firmly connected to the control board.
Tip: Some Honeywell models use a magnetic reed switch; ensure no metal objects are stuck near the sensor that could interfere with operation.
