Possible Causes
Room temperature below operating range, Faulty ambient temperature sensor reading too low, Unit placed near cold window or draft, Control board misreading sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal work is required for basic checks; unplug before opening the cabinet.
Steps:
- Check room temperature: Verify the room is above the minimum operating temperature (typically 41°F / 5°C). Move the unit to a warmer area if needed.
- Avoid cold drafts: Do not place the dehumidifier directly on a cold concrete floor or next to a cold window where the sensor can be fooled by localized cold air.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes and restart. If LO persists in a warm room, the ambient sensor may be faulty.
- Inspect and test sensor: Access the ambient temperature sensor near the air intake, check wiring, and test resistance. Replace if readings are out of spec.
Note: LO is often a normal protection indication in cold basements; the unit will resume operation automatically when the room warms up.
