Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on main control board, Faulty power cord, Failed main control board, Tripped household circuit breaker
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening. If you smell burning or see smoke, do not attempt repair; contact a professional.
Steps:
- Outlet check: Plug a lamp or other device into the same outlet to confirm power. Reset the household breaker or GFCI if tripped.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. If damaged, replace the cord set or have it replaced by a technician.
- Access control board: Remove the rear or side panel to expose the main PCB. Look for an onboard fuse (glass or blade type).
- Test/replace fuse: With the unit unplugged, test the fuse for continuity. If blown, replace with the same rating. If it blows again immediately, there is a deeper electrical fault.
- Board inspection: Check for burnt components or cracked solder joints. If present, replace the main control board with an Insignia-compatible part.
Warning: Do not bypass or oversize the fuse; this is a fire hazard.
